Chandrans Poultry farm was started in the year 1983 as a Partnership concern of four brothers: Balachandran, Ravichandran, Jeyachandran and Udyachandran. The family was previously engaged in plant breeding and commercial seed production under the name Krishna seeds. Long sales cycles and prevailing drought conditions forced the family to seek alternate avenues for growth and they decided to enter into poultry farming. Chandrans Poultry farm was started initially as a Contract Broiler breeder operation for Pioneer Hatcheries.
In the next couple of years, the deep litter facility was slowly converted to cage system of about 50,000 layer birds capacity.
